Most of us, whether we do business in Braeside or Brussels, have an online presence comprised of at least a Facebook account, a Twitter feed, LinkedIn profile and a personal website, but as Michael Silverberg points out,
November is Movember in many countries throughout the world. Men proudly grow a moustache during the month to help raise money for mens health issues; here in Australia that is specifically prostate cancer and depression. Those who take part are called Mo Bros and Mo Sistas and there are lots of posters showcasing these events.
The Australian Forest Stewardship Council is holding an awards dinner at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne on November 16. This dinner is not only a way of recognizing those who follow the recommendations of the FSC but will also be celebrating the 5th anniversary of the organization in Australia. Tickets cost $140 for individual FSC members.
One of the first things you should do when starting a business is to formulate and design a business plan to follow. According to the Womens Network Australia, only 10% of new businesses plan for where they wish to go. To help address this, the latest WNA business networking luncheon will be on that very topic. As with all WNA networking luncheons, members are allowed to leave promotional materials on the chairs of those who will attend. Brochure printers can work with you to design a product that will jump right out at those who see them.
The art of banner printing has undergone many changes throughout the years. There was a time when a company had to contract out banner printing to those with the proper technology. However, now any company can own a printer that will do all that they need it to do. Many printing companies, including several in Braeside and Melbourne, are now able to control the process from start to finish.
Small Business BIG Marketing is a half-day marketing event that will take place at Melbourne Park Function Centre on August 25. The event will run from 8am to 1pm and admission is $40. Some of those working in the Braeside industrial suburb will most likely be attending this event. Many small businesses rely on marketing for their survival, using tactics like flyer printing and advertising, so lessons learned at events like this are crucial to their success.

The annual conference is run by Jessica Lorber, who connects the students with writers from the area including teachers, authors, editors and journalists.
